Kim Delaney was an American actress. She is most famous for her role as the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she received the Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part as a character in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney has a father who was an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. She dreamed of being a reporter for the court in her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials after moving from New York. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash with a variety of television shows and dramas. She has not had a good or satisfying personal life. The talented actress was afflicted with alcoholism in the past and had two marriages that failed. The year 2005 was the time she was denied custody of the only child she was born with.
